Frequently asked CIPD questions

A CIPD qualification is a globally-recognised indication that you have HR and L&D skills necessary for a role in the field.

A CIPD Level 3 qualification is the lowest level CIPD qualification you can get, and it's foundational for any other CIPD qualification. In terms of difficulty, it is about the same as A Levels.

This is a course for beginners, so you don’t need any formal qualifications to get started. 

You’ll need: 

  • To be over the age of 18 or have a third-party payee for any financial agreement
  • A solid grasp of the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent if English is not your first language)
  • Access to a computer or other internet enabled device and a reliable internet connection, plus basic computer skills
  • CIPD registration to receive your Diploma qualification
  • Experience working in an HR role is beneficial, as well as a desire to work in an HR officer role

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is the professional body for HR and people development, with a worldwide community of around 140,000 members.

Our CIPD Level 3 programme is 8 months for the cohort-based programme, but it can be completed in 6 months if you decided on the self-study option (no tutor support).

No, Foundation degrees start at Level 5

Yes, but there are eligibility criteria you would need to meet, this includes experience in the HR/LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT field, educated at level 4 or above, as you need to be able to academically write assessments.
It can contribute to the entry requirements for university; however, it is individual to the University’s eligibility requirements depending on what course you want to undertake.
